QUIT’s Trustees

Peter Brice, Chair

Peter became Chairman of Trustees in April 2011. He started his career at Gillette in commercial roles, before joining Black and Decker, Thorn EMI and WH Smith. He sat on several UK and European boards before starting his own business in media, consultancy and international rights negotiation. He currently advises on start ups, acquisition and revenue generation strategies.

Keith Stephenson, Treasurer

Keith is a chartered accountant with 36 years business experience, providing professional services to blue chip multi-nationals headquartered primarily in the UK, USA, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Professor Robert West

Professor of Health Psychology and Director of Tobacco Research at University College London and one of the world’s leading experts in the field of smoking cessation. To find out more about Professor Robert West please click HERE.

Anthony Kenney

Anthony Kenney is a retired Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who worked at St Thomas’s Hospital in London. He saw many ill effects of smoking in pregnancy and is concerned about the adverse effects of smoking on reproductive health and on general health. A baby brain-damaged by the mother smoking will suffer lifelong disability. He teaches in Africa on courses designed to reduce the risk of mothers dying in childbirth.

Gay Sutherland

Research Psychologist at the Tobacco Research Unit, Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College and Honarary Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Smokers Trust.

Robin Rotherham

Robin Rotherham is an experienced and successful businessman. He has spent most of his career in the recruitment and sourcing field, working at Managing Director level in a major public company before setting up his own business. As well as his career in the private sector, Robin has spent over 20 years in the charity field, as a Trustee and latterly Chairman of two charities in the health sector. In addition to Southside Partnership, which specialises in the mental health area, he has been a member of Quit’s Board since 1989 and its Chairman from 2001 until March 2011. He remains a trustee of Quit.

Robin Wells

A successful businessman with over 20 years experience in the IT industry, who specialises in fast growth software businesses.

Richard Barraclough

Richard Barraclough’s career has been in the construction industry, initially with George Wimpey and then as a director and company secretary of Try Group and Galliford Try plc as the company grew to become a major £1.5billion business in the FTSE 250. He is a pension scheme trustee and insurance company creditor committee member. He joined Quit in 2012.
