VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR QUIT SMOKING TRIAL

Over 1,000 volunteers are needed to complete research into a new web-based way of stopping smoking.
iQuit is a trial of a web based application which asks smokers questions about their habits and personal circumstances. The smokers are then presented with advice to help which is tailored specifically for them.

The trial is being managed by QUIT®, the UK charity which helps people to stop smoking and run by the University of Cambridge and University College London.

Steve Sutton, who is leading the trial, said: “The internet has huge potential for providing advice and support to the millions of smokers who want to quit. It's important to find out whether detailed tailored advice delivered over the internet helps smokers to quit.  Taking part in this trial will help us to answer that question.”

To sign up for the trial, visit www.quit.org.uk. Once you have registered, you will receive some more detailed information about the trial.
